Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart Inc. is looking for a Logistics Specialist who is a self-starter.  This individual must be comfortable working under limited supervision, willing to aggressively pursue meeting the needs of the Customer, whether domestic or international.  

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Timely execution of export and import shipments in accordance with regulations and company policies
  • Prepare international shipping documents, such as shipping invoices, packing lists and declarations in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. and foreign country's export/import laws
  • Communicate cargo dispatch information to international freight forwarders
  • Effectively coordinate with customer service, shipping and purchasing to understand delivery deadlines, shipment readiness timelines and customer unique procedural or documentation requirements
  • Request and provide shipping quotes, as needed
  • Resolve shipping delays/issues in a timely manner, effectively managing expectations of external/internal customers when delivery performance is impacted
  • Participate in developing and implementing import/export compliance processes and procedures
  • Maintain international shipping records in accordance with U.S. export/import laws and company policies

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 3 years international transportation management experience
  • General understanding and working knowledge of import and export regulations for the U.S. and foreign countries, including EAR, CCL, ICC, Incoterms, ISF, HTSUS and Schedule B product classification
  • Experienced in producing logistics documents and filling export declaration via the Automated Export System of the U.S. Census Bureau
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One (including managing shipments through TMS), a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking
  • Other skills required include detail-oriented, strong communicator and computer savvy

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Area of study preferably in transportation, logistics or supply chain management

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk/hear.  This position requires employee occasionally to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
