Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart's Houston, TX facility has a current opening for a full-time, rough terrain, hydraulic crane operator NCCCO certified to 150 ton capacity.  The crane operator plays an important role in moving finished goods out of the production facility, moving tanks into the facility for re-hab and repair, unloading incoming goods in the yard for repair, and loading completed goods for transport off site

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
  • Conduct all necessary inspections on the crane and crane equipment to assure operability and proper operations of all safety devices.
  • Perform crane operations such as:
    • Position crane boom over loads to be moved
    • Perform or assist with the rigging of the load to be moved
    • Move material during assembly operations if needed
    • Place goods in designated locations
  • Maintain hands on necessary switched to allow for stopping quickly in case of an emergency
  • Assure that other personnel working with crane operator fully understand hand signals or similar instructions before starting crane operations.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Observe and practice all safety procedures and policies, taking special precautions when moving objects over occupied areas.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial construction environment
  • Previous crane operation experience
Your Education Should Be…
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Crane Operator
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • The job duties for this position will require frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, and climbing and working at elevated heights.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., occasional heavier lifting.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials.
  • There will be time spent on the production floor and outside of the facility which will require the ability to be exposed to loud noises, temperature extremes, overhead objects, welding fumes, and possible exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Required to wear all necessary PPE
