Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart's FEA Design Engineers is critical in providing a variety of engineering and technical service design and support activities for Chart’s Industrial Gas Product Line. This position will be the lead engineer on new products and work closely with other key partners to ensure code, product and customer specifications are met. Individuals interested in this position must be independent, results-oriented and self-motivated mechanical engineers.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • FEA for both your products and to support others
  • Fatigue analysis for mobile products
  • Perform engineering calculations associated with pressure vessel and process piping
  • Ensure that work completed by design/drafting employees adheres to company procedures/policies, is manufacturable, and meets customer’s expectations
  • Creation of P&ID’s for new concepts
  • Conceptual CAD modeling of new products in Solidworks
  • Working with production to resolve first time build issues
  • Work closely with supply chain to ensure availability of materials which have an impact on the product being developed

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum 3 years of work FEA experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with engineering, design, fabrication, and testing of mechanical equipment is desirable
  • Ability to utilize a broad knowledge of engineering practices to create and maintain a complete product design basis (e.g., calculations, drawings, bills of materials and validation testing data)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with design, field operation and maintenance personnel as required
  • Ability to take small projects from concept and development through approval, engineering review and completion
  • Conceptual modeling in Solidworks preferred
  • Familiarity with plumbing and piping systems useful
  • Preferred mobile product development experience

Your Education Should Be…

At least a master’s degree in mechanical engineering

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • This position will require the ability to move around the production floor and investigate issues with the production equipment.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending and other related tasks in an office setting.
  • Willing and able to travel as required to meet company and project requirements (10-20%).
