The Big Picture:
Howden Reciprocating and Centrifugal compressors (HCR), is a specialist supplier of tailor-made gas compression equipment to various industries. Our products have made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100 years, and we are now looking for Manager Product Management & Support who will join our team and supports in making a valuable difference in the century to come.
To support our global growth ambition, there is a need to strengthen the ability to support and guide global teams that interact with the company product lines. The R&D team has grown and is currently reporting directly to the Director Product Management & Quality. A position of Manager Product Management & Support is created to enable the required focus on team and process development and to drive governance for the product lines of the company, standardize and deliver support from experts.
What needs to be done?
- This role is accountable for organizing and delivering support globally for the company product lines after product release from a technology standpoint, including the aspects of qualification of production processes and cost models.
- Governance and processes to handle local and global support activities, including on the new roles and responsibilities.
- Plan and execute, with the support of other departments, the activities to increase the level of standardization and configured-to-order solutions in the company portfolio of solutions, in alignment with the strategic objectives.
- Support technically the qualification of production processes (parts or complete solutions) related to the product lines of the company.
- This is a middle management people leader position which means that one of the core accountabilities is to lead and develop a team of experts and engineers. This includes all people leader responsibilities, f.e. to lead people processes like recruitment, performance management, competency management, absenteeism management, capacity management, wellbeing, etc.
- This position is part of the middle management team of the location and has a collective responsibility to achieve the company annual operational goals.
What do you need to bring?
- Bachelor or Master degree in Design or Engineering.
- Proven experience in performing risk assessments and understanding of production and supply chain processes.
- We prefer candidates with experience in project management, process improvement and lean knowledge.
- Quality awareness.
- Pro-active attitude, ability to anticipate on challenges and set-backs, ability to mitigate the impact for the program and for the team.
- Ability to understand and influence long term plans (strategic aspects) and address short term issues.
- Strong and open communication and listening skills.
- We prefer candidates with experience in people leadership.
- We prefer candidates with experience in working in a global company with direct contact with remote/regional teams.
- Creative mindset with a customer focus.
- Team player and a self-starter.
- Strong analytic skills and fact based decision making.
- Strong ability to organize work and prioritize requests.
- Occasional travel could be required.
- Fluency in English.
