Ensuring Chart’s Success (job summary):

The Process Engineer provides engineering support for the life of customers’ plants, including analysis of DCS data for compliance with guidelines, causes for deviations, and opportunities to improve operations. Must have good written and oral communication and must work well with all levels of supervision.

 

What Your Day to Day Activities will be:

  • Analyze DCS data (process plant operating data) for excursions from Chart guidelines
  • Review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to troubleshoot operational issues
  • Present findings to customers
  • Prepare reports detailing findings to customers
  • Review others’ presentations and reports
  • Simulate plate-fin heat exchanger performance under off-design conditions
  • Participate in unit start-ups

 

Your Professional Experience Should Be:

  • Knowledge of chemical engineering first principles
  • Working knowledge of HYSYS or SimSci process simulation software
  • Knowledge of cryogenic process technologies
  • Understands basic applicable engineering codes
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • Sound organizational skills for completing tasks as scheduled
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills challenges and solutions to customers
  • Good interpersonal skills to successfully interface other engineering disciplines and customers
  • Customer focused
  • 3 years process engineering experience
  • EIT certificate with plans to obtain PE License desirable
  • Membership in a professional society 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

 

Your Education Should Be:

Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from US University, or a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from a foreign University and Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from a US University.

 

Your Physical Work Environment will Require:

  • Travel up to 25%, both international and domestic locations.
  • Must be able to remain sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to do occasional lifting up to 35lbs as regular daily activities
