Howden, a Chart Industries Company is a global engineering business who focuses on providing clients with industrial products that help multiple sectors improve their everyday processes. Howden’s core focus is on providing quality solutions for air and gas handling, and have over a century of experience in doing so. We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to develop and lead the supply chain management for the Aftermarket team, including purchasing, procurement and logistics in support of project success.

What Will You Do?

 

  • Develop a sourcing strategy, strategic panel, and performance tracking KPI’s to support Quality, Cost and Delivery targets;
  • Partner with Operations, Proposals and Sales to develop a performance improvement plan initiative with strategic suppliers;
  • Partner with Americas commodity / category Managers to align / develop framework agreements for key strategic suppliers;
  • Develop, monitor and report on KPI’s to internal Operations team;
  • Lead vendor engagement (external) and communication updates (internal) with strategic suppliers and critical projects;
  • Coordinate communication between vendors and Operations team;
  • Work with the commercial team to develop proposal response process tools;
  • Develop, monitor and report on KPI’s to internal Proposals team;
  • Responsible for the management, development and oversight of the purchasing, procurement and logistics team (direct and indirect), including deployment of training and performance standards, team building, develop, monitor and track KPI’s
  • Work with Americas category managers and Supplier Quality Assurance to align Aftermarket sourcing strategy, obtain support on supplier development efforts, supplier audits, new supplier targets, development and approval process;
  • Lead supplier negotiations in partnership Commodity Manager, SQA team, and Proposals team, regarding price, payment, delivery, quality target, and performance KPI’s for target commodities and/or sourcing targets;
  • Develop and maintain good supplier relationships;
  • Develop and lead annual supplier communication efforts;
  • Work with Engineering, Quality and Product management teams to identify and optimize product standardization / CQD improvement opportunities
  • Responsible to ensure timely placement, acknowledgement, and fulfillment of PO’s for projects by purchasing team;
  • Responsible to mitigate, escalate any critical path, impact or delays;
  • Lead project management escalation of major issues with necessary teams and departments;
  • Provide reporting and feedback loop with Operations and Sales to ensure best-fit suppliers satisfy “voice of customers”;
  • Attend and present at project and daily management meetings to gain a detailed understanding of project requirements, expectations and provide comprehensive communication;
  • Lead benchmark efforts to identify best practices across the Howden Aftermarket and Chart Aftermarket teams;
  • Review, update, and develop supply chain processes;
  • Drive the use of Chart Business Excellence continuous improvement tools throughout the supply chain management process
  • Follow safe work practices by attending all required EH&S training, reporting safety incidents and near misses on a timely basis and maintaining the goal of “zero” lost time incidents.

Your Experience Should Be...

 

  • Degree in purchasing, supply chain, business administration, engineering, finance or related discipline;
  • Advanced competency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook);
  • Advanced competency of ERP systems (i.e. AX, D365, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing in a manufacturing environment;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, in person) at all levels;
  • Familiarity working in an engineered to order environment;
  • Autonomous, self-starter, with high degree of initiative;
  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and build cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to engage with internal and external strategic partners to build support, develop relationships, and influence to achieve targeted objectives;
  • Good team player;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Committed to development, training and empowerment of team;
  • Sets personal deliverables and works to high standards;
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes, procedures and theory;
  • Accurately captures, records and communicates information;
  • Experience in negotiating high-value, complex contracts;

Desirable Skills and Experience

 

  • PMP certification or in process;
  • MBA or other relevant Masters;
  • APICS certification or credentials;
  • Lean Six Sigma Continual Improvement experience
