The Aluminum Welder is responsible for performing precision welding and fabrication of aluminum components used in fin vaporizers (air‑ambient heat exchangers). This role requires high‑quality TIG welding on thin‑gauge aluminum, adherence to ASME and internal quality standards, and close collaboration with fabrication and inspection teams in a manufacturing environment. This role is located in our Ball Ground, Georgia facility and will work day shift Monday through Thursday, unless overtime is needed.
What Will You Do?
- Perform TIG welding (and MIG where applicable) on aluminum fin vaporizer assemblies, headers, piping, and structural components
- Weld thin‑gauge aluminum fins and tubes without distortion or burn‑through
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions
- Prepare materials by cleaning, fitting, tacking, and aligning components prior to welding
- Maintain consistent weld quality meeting ASME, AWS, and company specifications
- Perform visual inspections and assist with pressure, leak, and NDT testing when required
- Use jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Follow welding procedures (WPS) and document work as required
- Maintain welding equipment and keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Collaborate with production, quality and engineering to resolve weld-related issues
- Other duties may be assigned based on business needs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role, including close vision. color evaluations and the ability to adjust to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Medium to loud noise level in the work environment.
Your Experience Should Be...
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED, strongly preferred
- Minimum 2–5 years aluminum welding experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Proficiency in TIG welding aluminum (thin material required)
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Knowledge of aluminum metallurgy, heat input control, and distortion prevention
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- Experience welding heat exchangers, vaporizers, radiators, or pressure vessels
- AWS aluminum welding certification (or ability to pass qualification tests)
- Experience with ASME Section IX welding requirements
- Familiarity with leak testing, pressure testing, or NDT methods
- Manufacturing or industrial fabrication background
