What Will You Do?

  • Prepare pipe for welding, which includes cutting, grinding, cleaning, and beveling
  • Measure and cut pipe using drawings, blueprints and math skills to determine length and angle cuts
  • Cuts pipe using a variety of tools, such as reciprocating saw, pipe cutter, cutting torch, pipe cutting machine, and/or other small hand tools
  • Operate forklift for material handling and general production support activities
  • Perform minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment
  • Observe and comply with all safety rules and company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Perform all duties to OSHA and ISO specifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role, including close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Your Experience Should Be...

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Pipe cutting experience preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and drawings, and interpreting bill of materials (BOM)
  • Basic math skills and able to read a tape measure with 100% accuracy
  • Precision and accuracy 
  • Self-starter capable of managing own workload with limited supervision
  • Forklift experience or willingness to train and certify
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekend hours, based on business needs

Preferred

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Automated crane experience
  • Previous manufacturing experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with ISO procedures
