Ensuring Chart’s Success…
The primary responsibility of the Senior Designer is to address product development and product maintenance needs in a 3D CAD environment. The selected individual will be responsible for the design and improvement of parts and assemblies, creation and maintenance of detailed drawings, managing engineering change orders, etc. As a senior level designer it is expected that the designer will work on a more self-directed basis managing small to large efforts and their own schedules.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
- Working with product engineers to create and revise designs
- Creating and maintaining detailed component and assembly drawings
- Creating and maintaining complex Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Collaborating with key manufacturing and quality personnel regarding new and existing designs
- Engaging in and facilitating meetings that focus on design reviews
Your Education Should Be…
- AS or Technical degree required, preferably in Engineering or Science
- BS degree a plus
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
Working Conditions:
- Production factory support and office environment
- Occasional travel to customers, vendors, or other Chart locations is possible
Work Hazards:
- Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
- Working with cryogenic products will involve possible exposure to pressurized flammable gas, pressurized oxidizing gas, pressurized inert gas and very low temperatures (-320º F).
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter and a team player
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exposure to JD Edwards, or similar ERP a plus
- Strong skills in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM systems strongly preferred
- Experience with AutoDesk Inventor a plus, but not required
