We invite applications for the position of Regional Aftermarket Manager at our Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Division in Cape Town. The Regional Aftermarket Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the Cape Town region, overseeing compressor service projects, sales activities, service technicians, customer relationships, sales agents, planning, and service workshop operations. This role will also ensure safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of services while maintaining high customer satisfaction and supporting business growth.

What Will You Do?

 

  • Project & Service Management: Manage and oversee all compressor aftermarket (service, spares and enhancement) projects from quotation to completion.
  • Sales & Business Development: Drive regional service and aftermarket sales (maintenance contracts, repairs, parts, upgrades).
  • Enhancements: Identify opportunities at customer sites to improve operations through enhancements to equipment (e.g. reliability, energy savings, etc.).
  • Planning & Resource Coordination: Plan and schedule service technicians, subcontractors, and resources efficiently. Manage workload planning to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Customer Visits & Relationship Management: Conduct regular customer visits and site inspections. Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and technical discussions.
  • Workshop & Operations Oversight: Manage daily workshop activities, including repairs, overhauls, and testing. Ensure workshop efficiency, quality control, and housekeeping standards.
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to OHSA, environmental, and company safety policies. Promote and enforce a zero‑harm safety culture.
  • Reporting & Administration: Prepare regular management reports on projects, sales, utilization, and profitability. Monitor budgets, costs, and regional financial performance.

Your Experience Should Be...

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification.
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in compressor service, rotating equipment, or industrial services.
  • Experience in the Mining/Industrial & Marine environment relating to rotating equipment.
  • Strong track record with customer relations and service delivery.
  • Proven experience in project management and service operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial compressors and associated systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
