What Will You Do?
Main Purpose of Job
1. Working with cross functional teams, provide management, systematic planning and coordination of designated projects to ensure on-time delivery to agreed milestones and achievement of financial goals.
2. Serving as the point of contact for customers and representatives during project execution.
3. Manage invoicing and billing with finance and shipping of product with operations.
Accountabilities
1. Develop project plans, identify the critical path and develop contingency actions with the cross functional teams.
2. Coordinate cross functional teams to achieve project milestones on time per the schedule.
3. Provide systematic planning and coordination of major projects as warranted.
4. Participate in development of technical documents, specifications, quality and purchasing requirements.
5. Manage invoicing and billing with finance and shipping of product with operations.
6. Co-ordinate customer interactions such as submittals, witness testing, delivery and start up.
7. Develop project plans / schedules, identify the critical path, identify risks and develop contingency actions with the cross functional teams.
8. Issue all correspondence, including and not limited to, technical transmittals, progress reports.
9. Provide quotes and administer customer change orders for scope adders.
10. Read and decipher complex bid documents and requirements.
11. Maintain project status data summary for management review including budget, schedule and issues.
12. Manage internal change orders.
13. Administer “lessons learned” as established by the project team and management including root cause analysis.
14. Co-ordinate, negotiate and resolve project claims and issues.
15. Co-ordinate purchase of long lead time items and other critical specification components.
16. Other duties as defined by the Engineering Manager.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
Sitting for long periods of time, on the phone for long period of time, walking on the production floor
Your Experience Should Be...
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of five (7) years working within an engineering environment managing technical projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with net values in the range of $1M or higher.
• Detailed orientated. Able to interpret engineering specifications, submittal comments, drawings and T&C’s (terms & conditions).
• Ease in establishing and maintaining productive relationships both internally and externally.
• Strong written and oral communication skills – an active listener with proven collaboration skills.
• Co-ordination and management of meetings.
• Capable of developing project plans and working with cross functional teams to establish time based tasks and deliverables.
• High competency w/ Microsoft Office Products: Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Access.
• Accomplished multi-tasker able to prioritize large volume of activity.
• Demonstrated technical know-how, analytical skills, and mechanical aptitude.
