Chart Water is seeking an individual with advanced knowledge of water treatment process chemistry and ultra-pure water (UPW) processes which include, but are not limited to, multi-media filtration (MMF), ultra-filtration (UF), ion exchange (IX), reverse osmosis (RO), electro deionization (EDI) and demineralization.   This role provides engineering and project support related to system design, proposals, project scoping, and execution of water treatment projects with a focus on critical manufacturing processes.  The ideal candidate will also have significant experience with identification and sizing of equipment used in water treatment applications, such as pumps, valves, piping, tanks and electrical components.  

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Provide creative and advanced engineering support to system design, proposal preparation, project scoping, and execution of water treatment projects with a focus on Ultra-Pure Water systems.  
  • Prepare technical scopes of work, including equipment design and sizing and cost estimates.
  • Partner with Technical Sales Managers for technical sales and document preparation support.
  • Provide support in preparing bids, project development, design, and implementation of new treatment opportunities.
  • Work with application of existing and new technologies for treatment of a variety of water-related contaminants for potable water, industrial process water, and groundwater remediation projects.

Your Education Should Be…

  • BS degree in Engineering, chemical, civil, environmental or mechanical preferred.
  • Advanced degree, highly desirable.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Work performed outside of the office environment including customer job sites, offsite manufacturing facilities, etc. will have exposure to loud noise, construction zones with various environmental hazards, and additional requirement for PPE safety equipment use.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and listen to verbal instructions and correspondence. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting of 50 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Duties include lengthy visual requirements on computer monitors.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 10 years of experience in roles related to membrane technologies including UPW treatment systems and technologies.
  • Must have technical experience in water treatment system design and operation.
  • Must have equipment sizing and selection experience.
  • Proven experience with full-scale system startup and piloting.
  • Hands-on knowledge and operations of water and wastewater treatment systems, a plus.
