We invite applications for the position of Mechanical Engineer at our Howden MEA Projects Division in Midrand. The Mechanical Engineer will provide a competent MEA Projects engineering and design resource to internal and external clients.

What Will You Do?

• Design of large fan systems, validating existing designs and attending to repairs and design modification
• Troubleshooting on and off site - inspections, condition monitoring, and scope of repairs. Resulting diagnoses and recommendation to be approved by senior staff
• Provide workable engineering solutions to problems experienced by both internal and external clients to ensure their needs are met
• Work as a part of the engineering team to develop design philosophies for ventilation in mining and industrial sectors.
• Develop and revise Eng. Dept. documentation (e.g. specifications, design manuals, software etc.) to ensure they are relevant and up-to-date
• Provide resource for fan testing where necessary
• Attend to engineering problems in order to achieve workable solution
• Attend to client queries with respect to existing or planned equipment and promote Howden engineering excellence in the marketplace.
• Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls 

Your Experience Should Be...

• B-Eng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years in the design of fan systems
• Exposure to heavy engineering workshop practice
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication skills – spoken and written
• Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Must be able to travel as and when required.
