We invite applications for the position of SHEQ Officer at our CIGC Division, located in Brakpan. The SHEQ Officer (Quality & SHE) will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) systems at CIGC and other Howden Chart Industries requirements
What Will You Do?
- Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation
- Assist in the development of improvement processes for the fabrication workshop to reduce unnecessary cost & rectification.
- Prepare, review, approve, monitor, and control quality control plans to ensure that the quality system and contractual quality requirements are adhered to and to make certain that the project quality requirements are communicated to the relevant parties.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with SHEQ Management Systems to identify shortcomings and improvements.
- Support the inspection and testing of work in progress to ensure that the product or service adheres to drawings and specifications.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to instill customer confidence and satisfaction in Howden processes, products, and services in keeping with a professional organisation.
- Carry out SHEQ related training of personnel in line with the agreed annual programme, thereby creating SHEQ awareness amongst personnel, which will lead to continuous improvement and development.
- SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls
Your Experience Should Be...
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
- Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent
- SAIW Certification (Level 1 or Level 2) or International Welding Specialist (IWS).
- SHE-related training or qualifications, including: SAMTRAC or equivalent, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 (implementation and internal auditing)
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within a fabrication, welding, or industrial engineering environment.
- Proven exposure to integrated Quality and SHE management systems.
- Experience in pressure vessels and pressure-containing equipment, and Cryogenic fabrication or low-temperature systems.
- Effective communication across all organisational levels.
- Confident engagement with operational teams.
- Attention to detail and sound judgement.
