The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in advancing Chart Industries’ people strategy by delivering both strategic and hands-on HR support. This position serves as a trusted advisor to employees, leaders, and candidates, supporting both plant and office environments.

This role is responsible for full-cycle talent acquisition, employee relations, policy administration, training initiatives, and HR operations while ensuring compliance and fostering a positive, high-performance culture. The HR Generalist partners closely with leadership to align HR practices with business objectives.

 

What Will You Do?

Strategic HR Partnership

· Strengthen HR’s strategic impact by driving initiatives that align with business priorities and operational goals

· Partner with leaders to execute the HR business plan and support organizational effectiveness

· Champion HR strategies and influence stakeholders to support workforce initiatives

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

· Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, and selection

· Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and implement effective staffing strategies

· Facilitate onboarding programs and deliver engaging new hire orientations

Employee Relations & Performance Management

· Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting thorough investigations and ensuring timely, fair resolution

· Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, development, and engagement

· Support disciplinary actions and terminations with consistency and adherence to company policies

Training & Development

· Design, coordinate, and deliver training initiatives to support compliance, leadership development, and employee engagement

· Promote understanding and adherence to Chart’s Code of Conduct and company policies

HR Operations & Compliance

· Administer HR policies and programs, ensuring consistency and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

· Support benefits administration and other enterprise programs

· Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors)

· Monitor EEO and Affirmative Action programs and recommend action plans to address gaps

· Support initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Working in a combination of office and manufacturing/plant environments, with regular interaction on the production floor and will require walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to navigate industrial settings, including exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures (with required PPE) as well as  standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. 

Travel between facilities or departments as needed to support operations and employees will be requred. 
 
This position primarily operates on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, aligned with standard business hours. Flexibility to adjust hours as needed to support plant operations, including early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends is required to provide onsite HR support across multiple shifts. Ability to respond to urgent employee relations matters outside of normal business hours, as needed.

 

 

Your Experience Should Be...

Required Qualifications

· Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

· 4–6 years of progressive HR experience

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline

· 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Technical Skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors)

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
