Chart Energy and Chemicals (New Iberia) specializes in cold box assembly and pressure vessel fabrication. This equipment is used for processing gas to liquid at cryogenic temperatures and is used by major LNG and petrochemical processing companies worldwide. The office location and fabrication facility are in New Iberia, LA. This entry level Industrial Engineering opportunity will focus on analyzing existing fabrication systems and creating new work instructions and procedures. Your role on the team will be to document shop processes, standardize workflow, and create training curriculum to use in developing new employees. Another focus will be on improving current systems by using lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement strategies to create a better work environment for the shop employees. You will join a manufacturing team that has a focus on welding systems and is developing systems, training, and instructions for material preparation, assembly, and overall fabrication of our product. Your time will be devoted evenly to learning the shop processes, standardizing workflows, and implementing continuous improvements.

What Will You Do?

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Alternate acceptable degrees would be Application Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio.
  • Must have an understanding in the basic principles of lean manufacturing.
  • Must have the ability to interact with shop personnel and shop leadership.
  • Must have a Technical Writing ability to document processes.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Project Management.
