The Role
As a Project Engineer, you'll take technical ownership of complex steam turbine packages, leading projects from initial concept through design, manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
This is a diverse role that combines hands-on engineering with project delivery, customer engagement and supplier management. You'll work on technically challenging capital equipment projects for customers across the energy, power generation and offshore sectors, acting as the key technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
Recent projects have included steam turbine generator packages for major offshore and floating LNG applications, giving engineers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that have a real impact on global energy infrastructure.

What You Will Do
- Take technical ownership of steam turbine package projects from order intake through to commissioning.
- Lead package engineering activities, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Review customer specifications and develop practical engineering solutions to meet project requirements.
- Produce and manage technical documentation, including ordering data sheets and engineering deliverables.
- Review and approve supplier quotations, drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation specialists.
- Support manufacturing, assembly and testing activities, helping resolve technical challenges as they arise.
- Provide technical input during bid and proposal stages.
- Identify and manage technical risks throughout project execution.
- Support installation and commissioning activities, including occasional UK and international travel.
What Do You Bring?
An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:
- Experience within a design, project engineering or package engineering environment.
- Knowledge of steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation systems or other complex mechanical equipment.
- Experience working on large capital equipment projects, ideally within oil & gas, power generation, energy or heavy engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation, specifications and P&ID drawings.
- Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- The ability to balance technical problem-solving with project delivery priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of engineering decisions.
- An engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience).
