We are now looking for a Senior Project Manager who will join our New Build Revenue Operations Team at our location in Rheden, The Netherlands and will support our company in making a valuable difference for our customers in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of engineered-to-order compression systems to customers in a demanding global and competitive market. The position is positively challenging as you will need to meet customers’ expectations, deliver on our key performance indicators and improve the projects’ financial performance (cash/profit) whilst managing deviations, risks and opportunities through the course of a project. What needs to be done?

  • Lead projects to success – ensure customer expectations are identified and understood, managed and exceeded. Deliver as per the contractually agreed terms and to Howden quality standards, and on-time.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, working with functional resource owners to meet project schedules and budgets
  • Deliver improved project execution processes and methodologies;
  • Deliver all commercial and technical requirements of the contract;
  • Deliver improvement of forecasting accuracy (including Percentage of Completion updates), reduced variances, risk & opportunity management and proactively manage project margins during project execution;
  • Develop lasting relationships with customers & end-users

 

What do you need to bring?

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in business administration or engineering;
  • 5-10 years’ experience in managing projects in engineering, construction, industrial/ infrastructure;
  • Experienced in leading Projects teams, with full accountability including financial accountability, across multiple functions, either directly or indirectly;
  • Experience in leading commercial, customer-facing projects in engineer-to-order projects of 6-12 months duration;
  • Experienced in dealing with international suppliers of large, complex orders/components;
  • Experienced in negotiations with customers in demanding environments;
  • Being transparent, a no-nonsense mentality, result-driven and a decision maker;
  • Project Management certification, Prince 2, PMI or similar (desired);
  • Experience of understanding implications of complex contractual terms and conditions – what team needs to do, potential risk areas and opportunities;
  • Cultural awareness – experience in working with international stakeholders, customers and/ or suppliers – required;
  • Excellent command of the English language;
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
