Located in St-Bruno-de-Montarville, Howden Canada Inc. - Covent Fans, is recognized as a leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality, custom industrial fans.

We are looking for a Quality & Continuous Improvement Supervisor to join our engineering and production teams.

What Will You Do?

This key role consists of:

Lead the Company's product inspection efforts, from the receipt of raw materials and components in the manufacturing process to final testing and customer acceptance of the product in accordance with Company, customer, and industry standards.

Through his field leadership, his rigor and his ability to mobilize teams, he contributes directly to the overall performance of operations.

What is the challenge?

• Promote the culture of continuous improvement and best practices within the company.
• Plan, execute and deploy projects to optimize costs, quality and delivery times.
• Lead the resolution of quality issues and improve organizational processes using recognized methods (Kaizen, Ishikawa, FMEA, 5S).
• Manage quality tools (document system, performance indicators).
• Ensure the compliance of quality files for each customer order and represent the company in exchanges with customers (PIM, ITP, Witness/Hold, complaints).
• Deal with non-conformities, define and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain and improve the quality system to meet ISO 9001:2015 requirements and ensure the sustainability of certifications.
• Supervise the document review and final inspection before shipment.
• Offer technical support to inspection and production.
• Plan and manage internal and external audits (suppliers, subcontractors) and train employees accordingly.
• To contribute to continuous improvement in health, safety and the environment, and to promote a safe work environment.
• Coordinate activities with the regional team (strategy, KPIs).

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

A regular presence on site to promote the Quality & Continuous Improvement culture

Occasional visits to customers or suppliers

Day shift (7:00 - 15:30); flexible work schedule

Your Experience Should Be...

• Field-oriented profile, with a strong operational involvement
• Mastery of analysis and organization methods (Kanban, 5S, FMEA, Pareto, Ishikawa).
• Knowledge of risk analyses and root causes of non-conformances.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015
• Experience in document management and monitoring of performance indicators.
• Excellent command of French (oral and written) and good knowledge of English are required for this position.
• Proficient in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
• Sensitivity to occupational health and safety issues.
• Leadership, drive and excellent communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience in the rotating equipment, custom metal fabrication and ventilation sector.
• Knowledge of non-destructive inspection processes in metal fabrication.
• Experience in management system auditing

French is the language use on the St-Bruno site.

The requirement of a language other than French for this position is determined according to the responsibilities associated with this position, which require daily collaboration with teams and partners from outside Quebec or other provinces/countries within Chart industries. Our clients are mainly (+95%) companies outside Quebec.
