Position Summary: This position will perform engineering duties for Core team, coordinate the work of the Core Engineering staff, and provide mentorship for the Core Engineering staff.
What Will You Do?
Job Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate daily engineering activities, including engineering schedule management (prioritize work, assign projects).
- Track subordinate designers' progress, evaluate performance & results.
- Create CAD Design Drawings & Renderings for sales and detail drawings for production.
- Drive collaboration between design engineering, procurement, and production team to establish and continuously improve entitlement cost, delivery and quality of machined components.
- Assist subordinates with research and provide design direction.
- Mentor and coach talent to ensure strong technical pipeline.
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations, presentations and implementation.
- Communicate and coordinate engineering workflow with sales and production.
- Occasionally assist customers with technical support.
- Assist Sales and Applications Engineering with job costing.
- Research, develop, test and implement new engineering procedures and technologies.
- Assist production personnel on critical design fabrication details.
- Assist in troubleshooting and dispositioning non-conformances for production and procurement teams
- Ensure timely delivery of documents to manufacturing.
- Review design efforts from team to ensure that quality is being maintained.
- Data management and release process activities.
- Rapid development and iteration of full-scale prototypes for new machine designs.
- Collaborating with production to create product assembly tooling, fixtures and instructions.
- Supporting production of final product by troubleshooting process and component problems.
- Authoring concept and design documentation for a regulatory controlled environment
Your Experience Should Be...
- Bachelor’s Science STEM Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
- 8 years engineering and/or manufacturing background; Master’s STEM Degree and 6 years’ experience
- Candidate must possess experience in program management and previous experience with the development of manufacturing processes and technologies
- A demonstrated track record of delivering solid technical solutions to the marketplace, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Advance knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience on 3D modeling and document control of large assemblies is a plus.
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and API 617.
- Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interface with manufacturing and procurement.
- Thorough understanding of engineering materials, component selection criteria, and design for reliability and manufacturability.
- Comfortable with all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, implementation, debug, verification, qualification, and transfer.
- Ability to execute and document component and assembly changes in an automated change control system and demonstrate that the changes were made properly.
