Position Summary: This position will contribute to the efficiency and quality of Chart's work by performing quality work according to standards. The Assembler will follow through on daily and weekly assignments set by the shop manager and will keep the manager informed of progress and problems on the job. The Assembler will maintain a positive image keeping the shop professional looking and free from debris at all times. Under regular supervision and guidance this position will help to ensure the department meets expectations and deadlines.

What Will You Do?

  • Performs and assists in general cleanup, such as sweeping, removing various waste, cleaning shop and office areas, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Lubricate, hand clean parts, assemblies, and materials and production equipment.
  • Light site maintenance.
  • Assist with moving parts between departments (forklift experience preferred). Ability to read, understand and follow general job operations and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Assist Assembler in preparing material for assembly.
  • May assist pipefitter in fitting auxiliary system piping, running tubing, setting up and performing hydrostatic tests, setting up equipment for internal testing and breaking down test equipment.
  • May assist with skid build and perform final finish duties on OEM machinery including but not limited to paint touch up, checking tubing fittings for tightness, cleanliness from oil, install blind flanges, masking

components before paint.

  • Grinding.
  • Polishing.
  • Drilling and riveting.
  • Load and unload parts and material in boxes, racks, baskets utilizing forklifts, cranes and hoists as required.
  • Package or assist in packaging parts, materials, and equipment for storage or customer delivery.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a business culture which supports the company's overall business objectives and goals.
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment in full compliance with company, customer and government regulations.
  • Supports general shop needs and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and proper PPE is used at all times.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk and/or balance use hands and fingers to type, handle, feel, grasp, pushing, lift, and pulling, talk and hear and use a respirator. The individual is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and repetitive motion. The individual is occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch. The individual may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position is subject to a climate controlled manufacturing shop, which could expose the associate to noise and oils as well as subjected to hazards such as, but not limited to, moving parts and vehicles, heat and chemicals and electrical current.

Your Experience Should Be...

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 shop experience with mechanical electrical background preferred.
  • Familiar with shop operations and possess electrical background.
  • Familiar and experienced using power tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite & PC skills.
  • Must have excellent organization, verbal and written communication.
  • Lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
