The Cost Accountant provides technical services using professional skills to assure the cost accounting procedures and methods for the Chart Energy and Chemicals  Operations are met and properly recorded on the financial records.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Maintain project cost sub ledgers and monitor cost variances on jobs
  • Monthly close processing
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package for review by Systems Controller
  • Enter all new project and proposal jobs and budgets into JDE and labor tracking system
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and distribute monthly cost center reports to management
  • Review contractor invoices and status to ensure proper job revenue and cost  recognition
  • Prepare weekly labor reporting
  • Monthly prepare job close out analysis for project managers
  • Annual material and labor standards update
  • Assist in ERP implementation
  • Assist in Sarbanes Oxley implementation
  • Keeps up to-date on corporate policy and any changes in current ERP system.
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closing including year-end audits.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Your Education Should Be…

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Four  years experience in cost accounting field manufacturing
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures of manufacturing cost accounting
  • Knowledge of general ledger account structure
  • Ability to reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word for Windows
  • Ability to learn an automated costing systems
  • Basic skills in accounting, 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer data entry.
  • Demonstrated record of good work attendance
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness looking for ways to improve the process
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well with all aspects of an organization
  • Some travel required
