What Will You Do?

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Records relevant quality data
  • Provides basic analysis of data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards
  • May recommend modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods and procedures
  • Performs work under direct supervision
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possesses beginning to basic knowledge of subject matter
  • Utilizes basic tools (such as calipers, micrometers, rulers etc.) in daily tasks
  • Other duties, as assigned

Performs Basic QC Tasks:

  • Product, process and Quality Management System audits
  • Processes reject material from production (Scrap Bins) in Master Control
  • Inspects products to insure conformance to established quality standards
  • Initiates nonconformance reports
  • Initiates revisions for Quality Management System documentation  
  • Conducts sample receiving inspections on purchased parts
  • Gather gas samples in support of product gas analysis
  • Prepares samples for mechanical testing
  • Performs tensile strength and impact testing
  • Conducts base metal and bend tests
  • Assists welder qualifications by conducting above mentioned tests as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and sit.  Frequently uses hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.  Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color evaluations and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Moderate to loud noise level in the work environment

Your Experience Should Be...

QUALIFICATIONS:

           

            Required

  • 1 + years of quality technician experience or minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders
  • Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)
  • Attention to detail essential
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve minor non-conformities and deviations
  • Overtime and weekend hours, as needed

 

Preferred

·         High school diploma or GED

·         General knowledge of ISO procedures

  • Knowledge or experience working with Chart products
  • Welding experience, a plus
  • Visual examination certification
  • NDE experience preferred
  • Dye penetrant examination certification
