Chart's project engineering group provides efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small components to large scale plant designs, associated with cryogenic applications. The VIP Designer will ensure that customer needs are met by following lean practices in VIP designs including customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials. 

What Will You Do?

 Assist sales as needed with quotes, drawings, site surveys, and sketches
 Create and maintain accurate 3D models and assemblies to reflect the mechanical design
and customer requirements
 Mechanical focal point in a team environment for piping layouts and design
 Ability to work with offsite design resources, and manage workload
 Manage day-to-day activity in ERP system including BOM’s, internal routers,
documentation, and other responsibilities
 Work closely with manufacturing teams, as well as other associated departments
 Participate in design review meetings with other departments as necessary
 Review / Approve / Process ECR’s, NCR, TDD’s as needed
 Provide support for special testing and fixtures
 Work daily with the shop floor on projects as they move through production
 Provide QA support for special documentation as required
 Post release customer changes/hold from customer service to production
 Post sales solutions and documentation as required
 Good interpersonal skills are a must
 Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Your Education/Experience Should Be...

Education:

 Technical degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design
 Certification in Solidworks is beneficial

Experience:

 Three to five years’ work experience
 Proficient with three-dimensional mechanical design software, Solidworks required
 Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and quality principles
 Experience with SolidWorks piping and routing module is a plus
 General good computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office products
