L.A. Turbine is a design and manufacturing company creating application-specific, highly engineered turboexpanders that are used in hydrocarbon processing, geothermal power generation, and other power-recovery or refrigeration applications in industrial processes worldwide. Expert field service, repair, and spare parts are available for all types of turboexpanders.

Position Summary:   The candidate will be responsible for supporting various shop functions including shop maintenance, cleaning machines, oil air compressors, and drains as needed.  Empty chip barrels, sweep floors and keep the shop tidy and organized.  Assist with material handling with forklift.  Assist with shipping/ receiving and inventory control.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

Receiving, stocking, and kitting materials for jobs.

Inventory, organization, and cycle counting.

Helping with the assembly of manufactured equipment.

Working with hand tools and power tools.

Cutting, grinding, drilling, and assisting pipefitters.

Ability to use a tape measure and make accurate cuts.

Cleaning, painting, and prep work for delivery of products.

Shop cleaning and organization.

Light maintenance of machinery.

Assist with moving parts between buildings. (forklift experience required)

Other duties as needed.

Your Education Should Be…

Requires a high school diploma or GED

This position is subject to an uncontrolled manufacturing shop with environmental conditions, which could expose the associate to heat and cold weather, noise, and oils as well as subjected to hazards such as, but not limited to, moving parts and vehicles, heat and chemicals, and electrical current.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

• 2+ years working in a machine shop and/or other manufacturing shops
• 2+ years forklift experience
• Basic math skills required
• Experience in welding is a plus but not required
• Power tool experience
• Follow directions
• Knowledge of metals and pipe (Stainless Steel vs Carbon Steel)
