Howden Maintenance Partners is part of Chart Industries and is a growing service company within the group, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machines, both electrically and mechanically rotating. Think of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, steam turbines, turbo compressors, reciprocating compressors, and expanders. This can be done on-site at the customer’s location or at one of our facilities.

As a Service Technician, you will go on-site to overhaul machines at the customer’s location. If more extensive maintenance is required, you will be responsible for disassembly so that the maintenance or repair can be carried out in the workshop. After the maintenance or repair, you will reassemble the machine at the customer’s site.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: €18 – €25 gross per hour (blue-collar/operational employee status), depending on experience and technical expertise
Your salary is determined by:
- Relevant hands-on experience with rotating equipment
- Technical knowledge (e.g. pumps, compressors, turbines)
- Ability to work independently on-site
- Flexibility and level of responsibility

Overtime and travel time are compensated in line with applicable regulations and company agreements.
🔧 Your Role
As a Service Technician, you will work primarily on-site at customer locations, ensuring that installations are safely and efficiently returned to operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform overhaul and maintenance on electromechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.)
- Dismantle, inspect and measure installations
- Prepare equipment for transport and workshop repair
- Reassemble, align and commission installations on-site
- Carry out mechanical tasks such as fitting, aligning and setting clearances
- Execute test runs in collaboration with supervisor and customer
- Adjust hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components
- Ensure all work is carried out safely
- Accurately record work activities, parts used and working hours
✅ What You Bring
- Technical education or equivalent experience
- Experience with rotating equipment or strong motivation to learn
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience with alignment techniques (direct or belt-driven systems)
- Basic knowledge of bearings is a plus
- Driving licence (Category B)
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required
