Earthly Labs is looking for an Innovation Product Engineer. This role supports VP Innovation, CEO and Business Development Team in the assessment of new markets and customer technical requirements to open new markets, build new products.  This generally includes customer sales calls, modeling, field visits, engineering support, product definition, gas analysis, briefings, chemical analysis, and solution design.


This position is located at our facility in Austin, TX.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…


  • Support development of new CO2 capture products, services, and offerings  
  • Support product development and innovation of existing products and processes
  • Work with client to establish new product use cases
  • Support sales team’s efforts in developing markets
  • Support marketing team’s effort to develop materials for new products and/or markets
  • Monitor technological and business development in target markets for product opportunities and challenges
  • Assist engineering with preliminary design and testing of prototypes
  • Support new product manufacturing by working with equipment suppliers and contract manufacturers 
  • Ability to interface with clients and team members easily 
  • Development of manuals and operating procedures in new industries
  • Supports business development, sales and CEO
  • Defines product requirements for testing in lab
  • Works closely with engineering and installer team in field

Your Professional Experience Should Be…


  • 3+ years of experience in process design, process improvement, and product management
  • 3+ years of experience working with new products, desired
  • Experience with creating new products and prototypes 
  • Experience in field environment with industrial equipment and clients 
  • Experience working in a start-up environment, desired
  • Strong product management skills 
  • Ability to take initiative and develop innovative products and approaches
  • Familiarity with chemical processes 
  • Cryogenic experience, desired
  • Air separation or carbon capture experience, desired
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to complete tasks in a rapid fashion.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to successfully interface directly with customers.
  • Customer focused
  • Flexibility and ability to travel as needed

Your Education Should Be…


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering 

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…


Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting. Must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. as regular daily activities require.
