Ensuring Chart’s Success…
• Responsible for the timely completion and accuracy statutory compliance and audits for the Australian entities. This encompasses
o Internal and external audits
o Direct and Indirect Tax compliance
o SOX audits
• As a senior member of the Finance team, provide guidance to the Finance team and cross-functional team
• Perform general financial accounting and reporting for Howden Australia group of entities (“Australian entities”)
• Complete Month End Deliverables for all Australian group entities on time, and to a high quality
• Liaise with SSC AP AR and finance teams, provide guidance, support, advice and exchange information
• Play a key role in implementation of new ERP system in Australian entities.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned by Head of Finance
What Will You Do?
1. Financial Control and Reporting
o Responsible for financial accounting related activities for the Australian entities which encompasses journal entries preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
o Ensure that all reporting units comply with regional and global reporting timetables.
o Support Head of Finance in accounting policy and standard interpretation and application for the Australian entities
2. Compliance
o Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete and compliant with financial regulations
o Manage compliance with relevant statutory reporting requirements
o Responsible for the completion of SOX audit deliverables and results
o Manage internal and external audit relationships and deliverables
o Liaise with Finance team members, relevant Departments and Shared Service centres to deliver these outcomes
3. Tax Compliance and Reporting
o Prepare quarterly and annual tax reporting in conjunction with Global Tax Team
o Liaise with external tax advisors and Group Tax team to complete required tax submissions
o Responsible for the review and preparation of annual Income Tax returns, FBT, Payroll Tax and GST for the Australian entities.
4. Insurances
o Support Head of Finance in the renewals of various insurance policies
5. Legal, Health and Safety
o Take all reasonable care for own personal health and safety, as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your action in your workplace.
o Liaise and co-operate with company management with regards to the current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area where you are performing your duties.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
• Experience in Audit or Business Services
• Experience in Engineering or Project based industries
• Experience in ERP systems and process improvement projects
Your Experience Should Be...
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
• Bachelor of Commerce/ Accounting with at least 10 years of experience.
• CPA or CA qualified
• Experience in a complex multinational company
• Experience in interpreting and applying IFRS standards
• Results driven, ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines
• Ability to adopt to a changing environment and priorities
• Intermediate to Advance level in Microsoft Office i.e. Word/Excel/PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
