We make high quality, highly engineered products that improve people’s lives, advance medical research and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world.  Chart's Ball Ground, GA facility is currently seeking candidates interested in the position of Engineering R&D Co-op. This position will work full time on a semester rotation for 2 semesters, preferably 3-4 semesters. We are looking for Summer 2019 and Fall 2019 Co-ops.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Integrating product, process and functional design of the facility or designated area.  Documenting work methods, time studies, process capabilities as well as recommendations for process improvement.  Designing of some production fixtures may be necessary.
  • Creating test protocols for R&D projects
  • Working with manufacturing to prepare test specimens or prototype parts
  • Setting up and performing experiments based on project requirements
  • Recording and analyzing collected data
  • Writing technical research reports based on observations and results
  • Using CAD to design parts
  • Performing design calculations in terms of performance and safety of products

Your Education Should Be…

  • Student in an engineering discipline with at least 1 year of classes completed
  • Ability to work at least 2 non-consecutive semesters full-time (3+ preferred)
  • CAD software experience preferred
  • Good problem solving and communication skills

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
