Ensuring Chart’s Success…

 

Chart Inc. has an opening for an Engineering Services Manager located in Ball Ground, Georgia or New Prague, Minnesota location. Working with team members in both Georgia and Minnesota, your group will provide unique engineering and technical skills to the product life cycle (PLM) verticals.  The engineering skills covered by this role include electrical engineering, programming, FEA, hand calculations and program management.  This group will also develop new products, primarily for applications involving electrical engineering such as IOT and engineering tools. 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

 

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers for both the tasks at hand as well as for their career development
  • Work with the various PLM engineering managers on their respective needs for engineering services – primarily industrial gas, Cryobio and AI, but others as well
  • Development of automated engineering processes for the PLM teams to use in their work
  • Confirmation that work performed in group is executed properly
  • Creation of novel product solutions that could be used across multiple product segments
  • Participate in site management team activities
  • Critical success factors for this role includes developing people, keeping up with the latest engineering advancements, creation of engineering standards, maximizing departmental output and leadership. Individuals interested in this position must demonstrate leadership, be results-driven and display strong collaborative skills.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…

 

  • Minimum of 5 years previous engineering experience, preferably in cryogenics or pressure vessel related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross functional partners as required. Previous management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Proven success in leading diverse groups of engineers, designers and technicians.
  • General understanding and experience with Quality Systems.
  • General knowledge of pressure vessel codes.
  • General understanding of CAD systems and network management.
  • General knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles including structural, thermodynamics, fluid flow and heat transfer.
  • General knowledge in stainless steel MIG/TIG welding, metal forming and piping assemblies.
Your Education Should Be…

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master’s degree preferred
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

 

  • Frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, walking and other related tasks in an office setting
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional heavier lifting
  • Frequent computer work
  • Frequent work in the production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors
  • Working with cryogenic products will involve possible exposure to pressurized gases and extremely low temperatures (-320⁰F)
