Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart's Ball Ground, GA facility is currently seeking candidates interested in the position of Field Service Engineer for our Biomedical division.

 

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing exceptional support and service to our customers through superior training, educational offerings and work sessions.  This role is responsible for troubleshooting product issues and responding to product and service inquiries for respiratory and cryobiological products aimed at the healthcare and life science industries.

 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Provide technical product support to both internal and external customers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Work with customers to understand and resolve their problems, including but not limited to, authorizing return of goods for service and/or replacement; providing estimates for equipment repairs, assisting with installations and repairs, etc.
  • Create product technical and training materials, including technical service manuals, troubleshooting procedures, service bulletins, repair procedures, installation procedures, diagrams, etc.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Customer Service, and Engineering to identify and resolve product quality issues
  • Create, maintain, and distribute accurate parts lists for service parts
  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct technical service schools, both internal and external
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Proficient with MS Windows applications
  • Ability to deal patiently with problems and complaints
  • Proven experience writing technical documentation, knowledge of ISO 9001/ISO 13485 essential
  • Familiar with FDA and Medical Device Directive (MDD) requirements
  • Attention to detail as it relates to documentation
  • Strong communication skills encompassing active listening, friendly manner and writing skills
  • Experience with medical devices or Life Sciences industry preferred
  • Experience with enterprise software, a plus
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain the required confidentiality
  • Must be able to work independently within specific time constraints

 

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field (may substitute degree with 4 years of related experience)
  • 2-4 years of experience in a support, service or customer facing role, preferably in a manufacturing/distribution environment

 

 

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Office environment, standard hours (Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm)
  • On Call Rotation – After-hours, weekends, holidays
  • Occasional work in the manufacturing plant which may include - exposure to metal cuttings and welding odors, exposure to extreme temperatures, occasional flying debris and exposure to chemical cleaning solutions and odors
  • Required to adhere to all safety practices as dictated by Chart Industries
  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crawling
  • Occasional pushing, pulling and handling of materials 30 - 50 pounds
