Opportunity to play a key role in a multinational, $5 Billion+ publicly traded company headquartered outside of Atlanta. Reporting to the Associate Director of Tax Reporting, the Senior Income Tax Accountant will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Chart’s income tax reporting and compliance obligations.  This position will include global tax accounting, assisting in the development of income tax provision policy and reporting systems.  The role will interface with our global finance teams including financial reporting, treasury, financial systems and local controllers.  The ideal candidate has a strong income tax accounting foundation, as well as a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, the desire to drive change and process improvement, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. This is permanently remote position.    

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Primary preparer for income tax accounting for a global consolidated income tax provision (quarterly and annual) under ASC 740 rules including uncertain tax positions, valuation allowance analysis, opening balance sheet calculations and foreign tax provisions.
  • Support all tax related accounting required under US GAAP and will coordinate with external tax advisors
  • Interact on a regular basis with regional financial personnel to ensure that they are fully informed and adding value to the global business (“OneChart”) in areas of compliance and income tax reporting
  • Work closely with the global finance and accounting team, assisting on the income tax accounting impacts of special projects
  • Support and review of annual return-to-provision calculations for foreign jurisdictions
  • Support the development and implementation of global tax strategies by completing effective tax rate modeling and cash tax modeling.
  • Assist with scenario planning to predict tax liabilities and optimize tax positions for items such as legislative changes, special projects, etc.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of tax controls documentation for SOX compliance
  • Prepare tax account reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and annual as required

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • Master’s degree in Tax or Accounting preferred
  • CPA certification

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or Large Regional Preferred), or income tax provision experience with a large multinational company.
  • Strong foundational understanding of ASC740
  • Experience in preparing global income tax provisions for large multinational corporations 
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision
