Job Summary: The Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager position is a hybrid role, consisting of Managing Quality Control and Assurance along with Occupational Safety and Environmental. The QHSE Manager will work as part of the QHSE Team to develop, implement and manage systems designed to maintain conformity with established quality control and safety standards, customer specifications, and fabrication / constructions goals. The position supervises a team of QHSE Technicians.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (scope):
  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, and oversight of the quality control, occupational health and safety, and environmental management processes to ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Control Manual, ASME and NBIC codes, HSE Manual and governmental safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation, interpretation, and day-to-day activities regarding Chart’s quality, health and safety programs.
  • Assist in quality oversight, auditing and inspections for fabrication, repair, and service to meet AMSE and National Board requirements.
  • Assist in the creation, documentation, and implementation of procedures, interpreting processes, explaining QHSE philosophy, and developing and delivering employee training to support a QHSE objectives.
  • Project support including customer inspection notification and coordination, NDT inspection scheduling and documentation of results, NCR creation, distribution, reporting, corrective actions, follow up and close out, and provide audit oversight.
  • Maintains files, databases, key performance metrics, reports and other data for the QHSE Department Interface with customer, vendors and suppliers to ensure all project requirements for each project are delivered. Create, review and release project specific quality control documentation for customers.
  • Work alongside procurement in verifying traceability for each project. Implement best practices to support control of project related material such as pipe, flanges and fittings.
  • Provide and supervise QHSE Technicians engaged in QHSE activities to ensure process integrity in the repair, fabrication, and installation for specialized OEM, Gas Processing, Petro Chemical, Air Separation, and other industries.  
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams, analyze statistical data, product specifications, and compliance data to ensure projects are completed safely and work meets quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction of the finished projects.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service through Investigation and correction of customer issues and complaints.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs and systems in accordance with Regulations and Standards.
  • Up to 50% travel

 

Qualifications needed:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience specific to the welding and fabrication industry.
  • Supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience with researching, interpreting, and implementing processes regulated by OSHA, EPA, ASME, NBIC and ISO.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and must possess strong computer skills. Familiarity with AutoCad, Office, and FileMaker Pro a plus. Experience with welding software such as CEI Prowrite or CSpec is a plus.   
  • NDE certifications highly desirable.
  • Experienced trainer, OSHA 500 or 501 highly desirable.
  • Strong management skills, self-starter, dedicated to the cause, a team player.

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Associates degree, Trade School or equivalent experience
  • Come from a service/repair or construction background
