GOFA is an internationally established and market-leading manufacturer of specialized vehicles for transporting cryogenic, flammable, and pressurized liquefied gases as well as chemicals. We are part of the globally operating Chart Industries Group, a publicly listed U.S. corporation, which allows us to combine the strengths of a medium-sized enterprise with the advantages of an international network. Our specialized containers transport (deep-cooled) gases and chemicals throughout Europe, the Arab region, and South America. Our production site in Goch covers more than 100,000 square meters and currently employs around 240 people.

Role and key responsibilities

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to provide support in overseeing the financial operations of our organization. The Controller will be responsible for managing accounting records, providing support in producing financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and perform financial analysis. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity and providing insights that drive business decisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide support in maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Participate in periodical budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HGB and US GAAP, national, and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Periodical account reconciliation performance.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Optimize processes, ERP flows and financial reporting tools including process improvements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of German HGB accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, Power BI Dynamics).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
