Application & Proposal Engineer - New Build

What Will You Do?

Application Analysis & Solution Design

• Assess customer processes and operational requirements to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Develop optimized technical solutions using Howden’s product portfolio for fans, compressors, heaters, steam turbines and related systems.
• Ensure proposed solutions meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Proposal Development

• Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, including system design, performance calculations, proposal drawings, and cost estimates.
• Ensure all proposed solutions comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal engineering guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management) and Product Business Units to validate feasibility and accuracy of proposals
• Support Sales Managers during customer presentations and provide technical clarifications as needed.
• Create and maintain organized proposal folders to document all related work and ensure traceability.
• Develop and standardize internal tools and templates for estimation and quotation to enhance efficiency within the New Build Application & Proposal team.

Customer Engagement & Support

• Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams during the proposal stage.
• Provide application expertise to address customer queries and build confidence in proposed solutions.

Market & Product Knowledge

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Howden products, industry trends, and competitor offerings
• Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal tools, templates, and processes

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your work location is in Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City

Your Experience Should Be...

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or Energy Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5 years in application engineering, proposal development, or technical sales support within Energy or Industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with rotating equipment (fans, compressors, heaters) and process systems is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of equipment and process design principles.
• Proficiency in engineering calculation tools and CAD software.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regional team environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Asia for site visits and customer support
