What Will You Do?

To lead and manage the reciprocating compressor assembly operations, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and on-time delivery by effectively coordinating workforce, materials, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Lead the assembly operations for reciprocating compressors, ensuring adherence to daily production targets.
  • Supervise and guide assembly teams.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical drawings, specs, tolerances, standard assembly procedures and shop testing standards.
  • Review and improve SOPs, work instructions, and workflow efficiency in the assembly & testing area.
  • Monitor and control quality at each stage of assembly; coordinate with QA/QC for stage and final inspections.
  • Drive 5S, lean manufacturing practices, and continual improvement activities.
  • Manage manpower planning, performance monitoring, and skill development of the team.
  • Coordinate with planning, stores, purchase, and design & engineering departments to ensure availability of material and clarity in designs/drawings.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to safety norms, PPE usage, and participate in safety audits and training.
  • Support testing team during test bench trials and validation of compressor assemblies.
  • Maintain detailed records of reworks, NCRs, and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Must adhere strictly to Quality Management, safety and environmental management standards (5'S, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.)

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Use of PPE. 

Must be able to work on shopfloor/assembly line environment.

Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crawling.

Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions.

 

Your Experience Should Be...

B.E. in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in reciprocating compressor or heavy rotating equipment assembly, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Key Skills -

  • Strong knowledge of reciprocating compressor components and working principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly manuals/sop's.
  • Knowledge of tools like measuring instruments, torque wrenches, dial gauges, micrometers, etc.
  • Team handling and shift management.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, safety, and 5S practices.
