The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Supply Chain Leader to join our CPI business in Hungerford and help shape the future of our global operations. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that drive growth, improve operational performance, and enhance customer satisfaction across international markets.
As the Supply Chain Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our transformation — streamlining processes, reducing lead times, and optimising inventory while ensuring seamless procurement and supplier performance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to align sourcing strategies, implement best practices, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Who we are
CPI, part of the Howden group, is an international manufacturing and service company focused on providing the best aftermarket solutions for the compression industry. With a history of more than 120 years of combined business experience, CPI traditionally focused on being a solutions provider for difficult applications in the reciprocating compression industry by using the highest quality proprietary materials designed by CPI.
Today CPI has evolved to bring an even broader scope of capability such as revamps and modernisation for the whole compressor package by harnessing our OEM expertise within Howden.
What you will do
- Develop and implement global supply chain strategies to support CPI business growth
- Lead key supply chain initiatives within the Hungerford site, driving performance and efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations to ensure best cost and delivery outcomes
- Optimise inventory levels, lead times, and order processes using tools like ERP and Kanban
- Collaborate with global category managers to align sourcing strategies across regions
- Support change management, talent development, and continuous improvement within the team
- Benchmark best practices and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain agility
- Ensure accurate ERP data and reporting to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making
- Foster strong internal and external networks to support escalation, expediting, and strategic alignment
What do you bring?
An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:
- Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement within a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, ERP systems, and lean supply chain tools
- Demonstrated success in leading change, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A strategic mindset with the ability to influence and inspire teams
- High energy, team-oriented leadership style with a focus on results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Desirable: experience with Six Sigma, Lean projects, or advanced supply chain certification
