Howden MEA Projects Division seeks a Direct Spend Category Manager tasked with establishing and coordinating the supply base and spending profile to guarantee strategic alignment with the Group Supply Chain Strategy. Foster a collaborative environment between Africa & Middle East Business Units, and drive continuous improvement to ensure improved customer service levels and profitability. To take responsibility for the strategic plan and implementation of procurement savings initiatives throughout Africa BUs. Execution of Group procedures throughout the MEA area.

What Will You Do?

• Lead and manage strategic supply chain function by developing and implementing procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements, drafting and managing contracts.
• Lead and effectively manage the strategic Supply Chain to achieve the Company’s strategic objectives while at the same time ensuring team engagement and focus on cost reduction and avoidance.
• Ensure that all Supply Chain & operating parameters are defined, measured, and controlled at or below budget levels. Continuously strive to reduce operating costs.
• The deployment of Chart & Howden Global Supply Chain strategies across all MEA businesses in direct spend categories.
• The formulation and implementation of Howden Global supply Chain strategies within the MEA Region.
• The development, maintenance, and adoption of a set of KPIs to measure Supply Chain performance
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and suppliers, including regular reviews
• Embrace Chart Business Systems (CBS)
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy and legislative requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
• SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley and AX controls.

Your Experience Should Be...

• Degree / Diploma in Supply Chain Management/ Business Administration/Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10 years of procurement experience at management level, multi-site, global strategic and operational role
• Experience in developing and executing category strategies in line with Business goals and spend profile.
• Experience within a project driven Engineer-To-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment, negotiating high-value, complex procurement agreements with Global suppliers
• Practitioner in related CBS tools (CPAS / RCCM / Daily Management), and the ability to implement initiatives across numerous complex BUs.
• Advanced competency in MS Office applications, and knowledge of MS Dynamics AX or a similar ERP system
• Excellent team player with the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple internal customers
• Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to communicate both written and verbal at all levels
• Solid knowledge of Supply Chain processes, procedures, and theory.
• Knowledge of general business processes with experience in managing projects globally
• Thrive under pressure with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
