We are seeking applicants for the vacant role of EC&I Engineer in our Howden MEA Projects Division. We are looking for a skilled EC&I Engineer to identify sales opportunities for EC&I projects and oversee the projects to ensure that the contracted deliverables are met as per the agreement with the customer.

What Will You Do?

• Business Growth Initiatives: Identify prospects to establish a reliable revenue base for the EC&I division.
• Tendering: Receive and process tender data to understand the client’s requirements. Compile work breakdown structures (WBS) which reflect the works information to compile a programme and bill-off quantities. Ensure that terms and conditions of tender fall within Howden’s acceptance to minimise contract risk.
• Design Engineering: Develop conceptual designs of P&ID, electrical and instrumentation schedules, loop drawings, I/O lists, hook-up drawings and commissioning schedules to ensure that the design complies with client specifications. Develop PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) software to ensure that the plant is properly controlled and secured as per functional specification.
• Project Management: Compile and upload into the ERP system, project budgets to secure margins in line with business objectives. Prepare project programs detailing tasks and timelines to ensure the project is completed as planned. Procure equipment that is required for the project within the set budget. Supervise the overall installation process to ensure that risk is managed and all environmental health and safety procedures are followed. Commission the plant to ensure that it operates according to the design and functional specifications.
• Site Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Attend urgent customer calls to provide technical assistance.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy and legislative requirements in order to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

Your Experience Should Be...

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5 years project management experience in Electrical/C&I projects and PLC software design.
• Extensive experience in Industrial Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering.
• Formal Project Management Qualification.
• Knowledge of Computer Design Packages (CAD, Inventor PLC etc.).
• Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills are essential.
• Must have working knowledge of ERP Systems.
