MEA Projects, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to effectively manage and lead compliance and conformance of the Quality Management Systems and Quality Control Processes, in order to produce a quality product or service cost effectively.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
- Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation.
- Assist in the development of improvement processes for the various departments to reduce unnecessary cost & rectification.
- Prepare, review, approve, monitor and control quality control plans to ensure that the quality system and contractual quality requirements are adhered to and to make certain that the project quality requirements are communicated to the relevant parties.
- Conduct annual /biannual internal & supplier/contractor audits to ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems to identify shortcoming and improvements.
- Assist with the inspection and testing of work in progress to ensure that the product or service adheres to drawings and specifications.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to instil customer confidence and satisfaction in Howden Projects processes, products and services in keeping with a professional organisation.
- Carry out quality training of personnel in line with the agreed annual programme thereby creating quality awareness amongst personnel which will lead to continuous improvement and development.
- SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.
Your Education Should Be…
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality Management
- SAIW (South African Institute of Welding) Welding & Fabrications inspector Level 1 & 2 and understanding of various NDT methods and procedures
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
- 5 to 10 years’ experience as an inspector in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment
- Ability to read & interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledgeable on the use and applications of various measuring and test equipment.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite
- ISO 9001 quality management systems experience
- Accredited internal audit and quality management system (QMS) courses
