Job Description

                                                                                                                                            

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

 

Summary: Assists the Quality Manager in planning, coordinating, and directing the quality program to drive improvements to quality control of products and processes consistent with established standards and customer requirements.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology/Quality Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years experience

 

 

Skills:

 

  • Understand QMS requirements (ISO 9001/ASME)
  • Excellent written and oral communication ability
  • Statistical Analysis

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Plans, tests and implements process controls to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.

 

  • Employs statistical techniques relevant to the manufacturing process to analyze data obtained during quality control and quality assurance activities to drive improvements to quality control over materials, facilities, and products.

 

  • Perform Root cause analysis when defects occur and complete corrective actions to prevent future recurrence.

 

  • Work as part of a team to address quality issues and make necessary improvements.

 

  • Assists in directing workers engaged in inspection and receiving activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Produce reports detailing quality metrics and activities at appropriate intervals for communication to the management team.

 

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through discovery of relevant training opportunities, benchmarking of state-of-the-art practices, etc. 

 

  • Audits key organizational processes to ensure compliance.

 

  • Performs reviews and approval of documentation for compliance to stated requirements; these may include vendor quality manuals, ITR’s, Data Reports and company quality records.

 

  • Assists in the preparation of Quality Plans for Heat Exchangers and Tanks.
