Howden South Africa is currently looking for Site Supervisor to supervise GO shutdown project and Maintenance in all our customer sites.

What Will You Do?

  • Participate in pre-project discussions before SOW is defined and resources are allocated to ensure preparedness. Participate in first-line inspections to determine final SOW.
  • Plan and interpret project requirements after receipt of production order (data package) to achieve objectives effectively.
  • Compile spares list needed for assignment to ensure SOW can be fulfilled. Stock control of tools and working equipment to ensure availability and in working condition.
  • Ensure all safety regulations and site safety file requirements are applied on the job to ensure the wellbeing of Howden workers.
  • Ensure all quality systems, procedures and documentation are in place, up to date and adhered to on the job to ensure quality of workmanship.
  • Plan and organise daily activities per bar chart to ensure the progress in SOW is monitored and controlled.
  • Stand in (when necessary) for the Site Manager at customer meetings to report on progress.
  • Expedite receipt of spares and equipment delivered to site to control Howden inventory.
  • Check and endorse timesheets as per attendance register to enable the Client to sign-off.
  • Shift handover compliance of Sups, QC’s, SO and SM to ensure continuity on all fronts.
  • Perform welding or mechanical Supervision duties on site.
  • Develop QCP from repair procedure and make up data books.
  • Verify and uphold welding qualifications.
  • Coordinate welding or mechanical activities to and from site.
  • Audit and scan data books return from site and save to server.

Your Experience Should Be...

  • Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
  • Trade tested and qualified Mechanical Fitter.
  • Level 1 welding fabrication inspector certificate.
  • Experience in Power Station, Mining and Petro Chemical Industry is required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and MS Project.
  • 3-5 years in Supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of NEC 3 contract
  • Valid Driver’s licence.
