The New Iberia facility specializes in cold box assembly and fabrication, pressure vessels and other cryogenic equipment as used for the air separation and hydrocarbon industries. The end users of this equipment include all the major LNG, petrochemical and air separation engineering on a worldwide basis. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

Monitor the company's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations. Inspects machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.

Assist with testing and servicing safety equipment and systems.

Observe workers and evaluates job activities to determine use of required safety equipment such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, clothing, harnesses, footwear and other equipment.

Inspect specified areas for job hazards, fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies. Prepare report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.

Investigate causes of accidents to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program.

Document and investigate near misses and incidents. 

Demonstrate use of safety equipment.

Lead or participate in morning safety meeting and pre-job contractor safety meetings.

Conduct safety moments before meetings

Facilitate visitor orientation.

Lead or participate in safety committee meetings.

Transport injured employees to the occupational medicine clinic or hospital.

Must be flexible with work hours – some weekends and nights will be required.

Minimal travel will be required (no longer that 5 days at a time)

Assist with maintaining the company’s ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001 systems.

May be to work at elevated heights up to 75ft.

Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Your Education Should Be…

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or an associate’s degree in Safety from an accredited university or college;

4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

May be to work at elevated heights up to 75ft

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

Candidates should have prior safety experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office

Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
