Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart is looking for a Corporate Benefit Specialist to provide day-to-day support for the HR Business Partners across the organization as well as be the process owner of the electronic benefits system.  The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to shift between responsibilities with relative ease.  We are looking for someone who has the capacity to work independently under minimal supervision, is comfortable working with individuals throughout all levels of the organization, and who possesses technical savvy in the use of Benefitfocus, and Microsoft excel. 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Process owner of the online benefits system, Benefitfocus, including but not limited to running monthly reports, reviewing and approving benefit elections for new hires, reviewing and assisting with mid-year benefit election changes, logging and following up on tickets within SAP and the OnePlace 365 systems.
  • Reviewing weekly EDI file reports provided by both the benefit providers and the Benefitfocus team.
  • Fix any data discrepancies between Benefitfocus system and the benefit providers.
  • Work with US HR Business Partners on data updates within the HRIS systems as it pertains to the demographics within Benefitfocus.
  • Provide escalated support for employees and HR Business Partners on benefit claims resolution.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting on the 1st of each month for finance teams.  Complete quarterly reporting for a small sub-set of benefits.
  • Weekly and monthly invoicing and processing including but not limited to medical, specialty Rx, dental, vision, 401k, STD, LTD, FMLA, Basic/Supplemental life, and AD&D.
  • Oversee the weekly funding into employee HSA/FSA accounts. 
  • Review of newly eligible 401k participants, work closely with payroll to ensure contributions begin at the appropriate time.
  • Review of 401k loan reports, provide assistance in determining catch-up payments for participants with missed payments in order to avoid loan default.
  • Assist with document preparation for annual 401k plan auditing.
  • Process owner of the annual Medicare Part D mailing
  • Process owner of ADA compliance as is relates to both 1095-C form preparation and 1094-C form preparation for IRS filings.
  • Partner with Corporate Benefits Manager for open enrollment preparations including communication materials, rate and plan updates as required in the Benefitfocus system, testing of the open enrollment platform in Benefitfocus, as well as communication of open enrollment to COBRA vendor and COBRA participants.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Background in benefits administration including medical, dental, vision, indemnity, and 401k plans.
  • Basic knowledge of benefit compliance, prior experience in understanding and interpreting plan documentation eligibility and benefits information.
  • Prior experience with Benefitfocus is strongly desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate to a variety of organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Accountable with a high degree of confidentiality as it relates to HIPAA compliance and the protection of PHI.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize, problem-solve and make decisions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (excel including VLOOKUP and Pivot tables, word, outlook etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate data

Your Education Should Be…

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Lift up to 15 pounds
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting
