This exciting position will provide you with the opportunity to make an impact in the transition from fossil fuels, change the landscape of products offered by Chart Industries, and coach a fantastic team. We are looking for someone who is eager to lead a team of talented individuals designing new products and maintaining existing products in both the Hydrogen and Orca Microbulk Delivery unit product lines.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Lead and mentor team of designers
- Maintaining and enforcement of design standards
- Checking and pre-approval of drawings
- Ensuring compliance to training requirements
- CAD design and drafting
- Work with outside contractors to supplement the team with surge capacity, as needed
OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Skill training and coaching
- Developing phase 0 NPD projects
- Task planning and delegation
- Communication with other functions
- Hydrogen test site support
Your Education Should Be…
- Associate’s degree for Mechanical Design
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
- Office environment
- Frequent work in the production floor environment
- Engineering lab including outdoor testing
- Frequent standing, sitting, walking & lifting up to 25lbs with occasional heavier lifting
- Frequent computer work
- Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
- Liquid hydrogen testing (temperatures down to -423F)
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
- Required: Solidworks CAD design experience in a professional environment
- Preferred:
- 2+ yrs supervisory experience
- Background in cryogenics pressure vessel designn
- Experience with mobile and/or hydrogen product designs
- Product development
- Strong interpersonal skills, team leadership ability
- Proven success in leading and coaching others
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
