Ensuring Chart’s Success…
We are looking for an independent, results oriented and self-motivated technician to provide a variety of service, training, and technical service support activities for nitrogen dosing equipment as well as VIP pipe install by the D&S Division in the field near the Chart–Ball Ground, GA facility, surrounding states and nation-wide.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
• Ensure timely and continuous quality service to the customer, by phone or site visits when necessary.
• Work with manager on customer communication.
• Prepare detailed service reports.
• Maintain tools and test equipment used for commissioning/service.
• Coordinate contact with all levels of supervision.
• Troubleshoot Nitrogen Dosing systems.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and use of troubleshooting tools and meters.
• Read and understand electrical schematics.
• Coordinate, perform and report results from testing. This includes logging results as required by written or verbal instructions.
• Adhere to contractual service agreements per sales and customer service directives.
• Perform quality tests as instructed by work instructions, engineering, or supervisor to ensure product quality.
• Install equipment including Nitrogen Dosers, pipe, ADF 105, etc. Some equipment may require the use of forklifts and/or manlifts
• Utilize ISO 9000 knowledge and application standards.
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
Your Education Should Be…
• Technical diploma/Certification required, preferably electronics/instrumentation related.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
• Extensive travel to customer sites. (80%)
• Both outdoor and indoor work.
• Office and plant work.
• Exposure to food safe environments
• May involve exposure to temperature extremes
• Occasional weekend and holiday work
• Required use of personal protective equipment.
• Frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, and walking,
• Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs., occasional heavier lifting.
• Occasional pushing, pulling of materials up to 40 lbs.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
• At least 1-2 years’ experience, preferably with commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment and instrumentation which include PLCs, ladder logic, and low voltage systems.
• Excellent communication skills used in answering customer’s questions and performing field service.
• Ability to read electrical and plumbing schematics.
• Work well in teams and independently.
• Read and understand detailed blueprints.
• Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers including MS Office, JD Edwards.
• Basic understanding of Industrial Controls and PLC’s
• Basic understanding of cryogenic liquids and gases, and thermodynamics.
