Chart's ETO (Engineer-To-Order) design group provides efficient solutions in the development of processes and products associated with cryogenic applications. The projects will range from small components to large scale plant designs. The Vessel Design Manager will ensure our design team is constantly supplying our manufacturing facility with on-time, highest quality vessel designs that meet our customer needs. Team workload scheduling and time management will be a high priority for this individual.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
  • Lead and mentor a team of designers for tasks at hand, as well as career development
  • Implementation of enhanced training/onboarding processes for new and existing employees
  • Manage team workload to meet customer demands, as well as manufacturing schedule
  • Manage drawing practices to meet industry and Chart standards
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment
  • Manage workload of offsite design resources
  • Ability to give positive and negative feedback for proper designer development
  • Conduct team collaboration meetings for training, project tracking, and team challenges
  • Effective communication of internal departments within Chart
Your Education Should Be…
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design
  • Certification in Solidworks is beneficial
  • Leadership/management training is beneficial
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
  • 7+ years of work experience in mechanical design, engineering, and fabrication
  • Previous supervisory/managerial experience is a preferred
  • Proficient with three-dimensional mechanical design software, Solidworks required
  • Strong understanding of CAD systems and network management
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and quality principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • This position will require the ability to move around the production floor and investigate production issues with your teams designed equipment.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting
