Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Facilities Technician is responsible for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair within the manufacturing facility. The Facilities Tech is directly involved with the execution of Chart’s Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and will perform facilities maintenance involving plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other maintenance duties, as assigned.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance on facilities infrastructure and buildings. Tracks repair history in the maintenance database.
  • Repair electric, pneumatic and plumbing systems as needed.  Replaces defective components to restore proper operation of facilities related equipment. Makes modifications to equipment to achieve desired results. Maintains accurate records and metrics related to machine downtime due to maintenance issues.  Works with contractors as needed.
  • Provide support for environmental and waste handling.
  • Perform activities relating to 5s to drive better workplace standardization. Delivers timely responses to work orders, safety observations, departmental audits, findings.  Maintains a clean and safe work area.  Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.  Responds promptly to minimize downtime, and drive improvements,
  • Communicate potential hazards immediately to department Coordinator or Manager and identifies and corrects potential unsafe conditions. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Your Education Should Be…

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience/training.
  • Vocational/Technical training inbuilding maintenance preferred.
  • Two years facilities maintenance experience.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. with occasional heavier lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work off elevated aerial platforms.
  • Walk and stand during entire shift. 
  • Work in an office and industrial manufacturing environment with possible exposure to temperature extremes, overhead objects, material with rough edges odors associated with cutting and welding.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial and office facility maintenance required.
  • Working knowledge of building infrastructure (plumbing, electrical and HVAC).
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance instructions, schematics and blueprint.
  • Perform math computations and computer data entry.
