Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart's Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of equipment within the manufacturing facility including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting. The maintenance mechanic is directly involved with the execution of Chart’s Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and perform facilities maintenance involving welding, plumbing, painting, carpentry and other maintenance duties, as assigned.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance on site infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. Tracks repair history in the maintenance database.
  • Repair electric, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits as needed. 
  • Replaces defective components to restore proper operation of equipment and mechanical systems. 
  • Makes modifications to equipment to achieve desired results.
  • Maintains accurate records and metrics related to machine downtime due to maintenance issues. 
  • Verifies contactor’s work and compliance to desired results.
  • Trouble shoot PLCs
  • Provide support on continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform activities relating to 6S in order to drive better workplace standardization. Delivers timely responses to work orders, safety observations, departmental audits, findings. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.  Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.  Responds promptly to minimize downtime, and drive improvements.
  • Communicate potential hazards immediately to department Coordinator or Manager and identifies and corrects potential unsafe conditions.
  • Mentors peers within maintenance department (journeyman/Apprentice structure) 
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
  • 6+ years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of industrial powered equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes and hoists, etc.
  • Ability to create advanced maintenance work instructions, schematics and blueprints, perform math computations and computer data entry.    
  • Ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and repair malfunctions.
  • Advanced electric, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC troubleshooting skills
  • HVAC and basic welding skills
  • Experience with vacuum, pneumatics, and electrical systems
  • Master level troubleshooting and technical repair skills
  • Advanced computer skills
Your Education Should Be…
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Vocational/Technical training in machining, electrical or mechanical preferred
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. at various heights including above head, with occasional heavier
  • Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of material
  • Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
  • Repetitive hand movements
  • Walk and stand during a standard 8-10-hour shift and can vary based on overtime needs
  • Work in an office and industrial manufacturing environment with possible exposure to temperature extremes, overhead objects, material with rough edges odors associated with cutting and welding
