Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by performing VSM’s for all products flowing down a production line, analysis flow characteristics, identified work cell improvements, drives improvements to completion, maintains up to date product VSM’s, works with Production suggesting load leveling moves and techniques to establish a takt time.
  • Applies knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and fixture fabricators; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Designs fixtures and equipment using CAD modeling for internal or external fabrication.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality and process capabilities; establishes labor standards; writes work instructions/training manuals; confirms manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by use of VSM’s, labor, and material costs; reviews production schedules; estimates future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with code driven ASME regulations.
  • Assists the Maintenance dept. in writing PM schedules and uptime reports, assists with the coordination of maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintains a comprehensive process data base by monitoring production flow and pareto flow stoppages and other pertinent information.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.

 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Possess a working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods. Microsoft office, AutoCAD or ProE

 

Your Education Should Be…

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with (3-5) years of experience in a metalworking-manufacturing environment or 10+ years of experience in a related field. You must also have good written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • This position will require the ability to move around the production floor and investigate issues with the production equipment.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending and other related tasks in an office setting.
  • Willing and able to travel as required to meet company and project requirements (20-35%).
